Speed-Dial

In the days of ancient Rome . . .

Unwanted babies were left on the doorsteps of Christian homes.

The same thing happens today: Christians will always care for unwanted children.

Watch our Truth in Two to find out why (full text below).

Abortion kills, adoption gives life. Choose life.

FULL TEXT:

After a recent campus showing of the pro-life movie Unplanned a student asked me a question. “How should I respond when pro-choice people say, ‘You only care about babies before birth but do nothing to help them after birth’?”

My answer created raised eyebrows. “You should have six people on speed dial,” I began, “Six people who you know are Christians, who are pro-life, and contribute their time, talent, and treasure to caring for children in adoption, foster care, crisis pregnancy centers, food pantries, and the list goes on.”

Then I added, “Dial one of these friends, hold the phone out to the pro-choice person and say, “This is the first of six people who care about babies after birth. Please tell them what you just told me.”

The pictures in the movie Unplanned mirror Caitlyn Flanagan’s December 2019 Atlantic article in a moving, honest assessment of what it means to abort a child,

When I see the sonogram picture of a 12-week fetus I think: Here is one of us; here is a baby. She has fingers and toes, eyelids and ears. She can hiccup—that tiny, chest-quaking motion that all parents know. She is starting to get a distinct profile, her one and only face emerging. What I can’t face about abortion is the reality of it: that these are human beings, the most vulnerable among us, and we have no care for them. How terrible to know that in the space of an hour, a baby could be alive—his heart beating, his kidneys creating the urine that becomes the amniotic fluid of his safe home—and then be dead, his heart stopped, his body soon to be discarded.

At the Comenius Institute we agree with Flanagan: “the argument against abortion is a picture.”

For Truth in Two, this is Dr. Mark Eckel, president of the Comenius Institute, sadly and personally seeking truth wherever it’s found.

AFTERWORD:

Real evidence can also flip-the-script on pro-choice advocates. Questions might include:

“How would you respond if someone told you that the city of Indianapolis had just been exterminated? The approximate population of Indianapolis is the same amount of babies aborted in Planned Parenthood Centers this past year.”

https://californiafamily.org/2018/planned-parenthood-killed-321384-babies-last-year-bringing-total-killed-to-over-7-6-million/

Or, “How would you feel if a woman who had an abortion said it made her feel like God?”

https://www.lifenews.com/2019/12/17/comedian-michelle-wolf-jokes-killing-her-baby-in-an-abortion-made-her-more-like-god/

Here is the result of pro-choice rhetoric: the real evidence is a picture.

The best way to respond to pro-choice rhetoric is show real evidence. And here is REAL evidence.

Or, “Why did the Democratic Party eliminate the phrase that abortion should be ‘safe, legal, and rare’ from its platform?”

Or, “Why does Obianuju Ekeocha, Founder & President of Culture of Life Africa believe that rich Westerners are using contraception to kill Africa?”

Or, “What would you say if I told you that children’s body parts from abortions were being sold by Planned Parenthood

  1. Dr. Eckel,

That speed dial thing is a good idea. I’ll have to work on that.

For my part–I abhor abortion on a deep level. It’s nothing short of murder. Period. I could say so much about this topic. I’ve even created an argument against abortion based purely on humanistic/secular reasoning. But that would be quite a bit of text.

It’s murder. I know that this seems, somehow, to be an “extreme” position to be taken. But a spade is a spade, and I shall call it that.

I am also willing to extend gentleness and mercy to women who are struggling with the decision, and those who regret it…
