Innocent

“In unity, we will fight for life.”

State Senator Katrina Jackson (D – LA)

“This is not a party issue, this is an issue unifying America.”

With everything that separates us in America, life should bring us together.

FULL TEXT:

“I am a Christian first. My goal in this office was to do the will of God.” Democratic state Senator Katrina Jackson from Louisiana is pro-life. Jackson says her first concern is “not to offend God.” Citing Proverbs chapter six, “God hates the shedding of innocent blood,” Jackson says, “What blood is more innocent than that of a child?” Professing to know the Lord Jesus Christ, is, in Jackson’s words, “To hate what He hates and love what He loves.”

Senator Jackson is arguing a pro-life bill before the Supreme Court at the beginning of 2020. You can read all about it in the article linked in this Truth in Two. For the second year in a row Senator Jackson has been asked to address the Pro-Life March in January, slated also to speak at a charity event to benefit the pro-life nonprofit “Save the Storks.”

Senator Jackson asks us to imagine aborting Jesus saying, “Mary was engaged to be married to Joseph. Her miraculous conception could have been looked at negatively by him and other observers. If we stress this idea of life not being valuable in the womb, then Jesus’s life would not have been valuable.”

At the Comenius Institute, we stand with state Senator Jackson believing all children are valuable. I have personally watched and participated with the lives of Christians who are ardently pro-life while giving even more attention to children outside the womb: fostering, adopting, caring, spending monies, time, and person to take care of little ones, as much and as best as possible. The sadness is that there is little in media which promotes goodness, the hard work of sacrifice, the selfless care of children. Creating government programs is one thing, the hard work of caring Christians like Senator Jackson, another.

For Truth in Two, this is Dr. Mark Eckel, president of the Comenius Institute, sadly and personally seeking truth wherever it’s found.

  1. Well done, Senator Jackson.

Stand for the innocent. Stand for the unborn. Stand for life.

  2. Good one, Mark. Love Katrina Jackson’s stand on this and appreciate it all the more in her political context. And it was great to read your mention of apologetics and Ratio Christi above also. Love your eclectic diversity always connected to what the late Dr. Francis A. Schaeffer called Truth with a capital ‘T’. Well done! All the best.
