Science

I LOVE SCIENCE!

And look what science just discovered in 2018!

Christians love science because they love the God who made the science.

Watch our Truth in Two video to find out why (full text follows).

The wonder of science originates in the wonder of The Creator.

FULL TEXT:

Spiders can fly. In fact, spiders have been found 1000 miles from any land and two and a half miles up in the sky. Scientists are just now discovering that spiders in flight use something they call “ballooning.” Check out the July, 2018 issue of The Atlantic to learn more. The same silk used by spiders to build webs is the silk that creates make-shift canopies catching the wind for air travel. It seems human understanding of arachnids is just now catching up to age-old spider practices. Charles Darwin, on his famous H. M. S. Beagle voyage off the coast of South America, wrote about hundreds of spiders all over the ship, 60 miles off the coast of Argentina. As The Atlantic tells it [quote] “Darwin himself found the rapidity of the spiders’ flight to be ‘quite unaccountable’ and its cause to be ‘inexplicable’.” [end quote]

I love science for the same reason Darwin could not account for it. Science, simply defined, is an observation of the world around us. But the question of a spider’s flight plan, or any other unanswered questions about weather, earth movements, or animal behavior leads us to the ultimate question. What or who established the orderly system of creation where we still make daily discoveries? The reason I love the science found in creation is because I love The Creator of the science.

Over three thousand years ago, Job best described human discoveries about science. In fact, he and Darwin would agree about creation being inexplicable. In Job 26:14 Job declared about human discoveries, “These are but the outer fringe of His works.” Translation? We may be gaining in knowledge through scientific discovery but if we are just figuring out how spiders fly in 2018, how much do we really know about our world?

For Truth in Two, this is Dr. Mark Eckel, president of the Comenius Institute, personally seeking truth wherever it’s found.
